UTW is back for more!

After a fantastic first edition, that received rave reviews, Ultra Trail Wales 2019 entries are set to go live this Saturday (1st December 2018) at 6.00pm

Saturday 25th of August 2018 was the first milestone in the history of UTW as 100 intrepid ultra runners made their way around the iconic 50-mile route. 2018 finisher Barry Davies stated, “Amazing organisation – friendly marshals and fellow runners, superbly stocked aid stations, an incredibly challenging yet rewarding route. My first 50 and I loved every minute. Yes to 2019!”

There will be an opportunity for runners to save £s too with early bird entries at £80, with entry fees rising to £90 on Jan1st 2019

New for 2019 is the UTWR (Ultra Trail Wales Relay). This will be an event within the event as teams of 3 runners will run one leg each of the route. Race director Matt Ward explains, “This will be a great addition to the UTW event. We had a number of requests at the race this year for a relay race. The way that the three legs work for the 50 miles lends itself perfectly for a relay. Leg one to Barmouth, leg two to Coed y Brenin and leg three into the finish in Dolgellau. We are limiting this to 50 teams in 2019 and more details will be released in December with entries going live on Monday 17th December – the perfect Christmas present!”

The weekend of 9th / 10th of August 2019 will see Dolgellau come alive to the vision and vibes of ultra runners from across the globe. Based out of the historic market-town Ultra Trail Wales is set to capture the imagination of ultra runners from the across the sport, and by year three organisers hope to take the event to a global status and develop further Wales’ stature as a destination for truly world-class outdoor events.
